Grammar 语法讲解

Grammar Point 1: 这是... (This is...)
The structure "这是..." (zhè shì...) is used to introduce someone or something. It means "This is..." in English. When introducing multiple people, you can repeat the structure or use "这是...，这是..." (zhè shì..., zhè shì...).
这是我的爸爸。
Zhè shì wǒ de bà ba.
This is my father.
这是我的妈妈，这是我的哥哥。
Zhè shì wǒ de mā ma, zhè shì wǒ de gē ge.
This is my mother, this is my older brother.
Grammar Point 2: 有...人 (There are... people)
To express the number of people in a family, use the structure "有...人" (yǒu... rén). The pattern is: Subject + 有 + Number + 口 + 人 (for family members) or 有 + Number + 人 (for general people).
我家里有五口人。
Wǒ jiā lǐ yǒu wǔ kǒu rén.
There are five people in my family.
教室里有二十个人。
Jiào shì lǐ yǒu èr shí gè rén.
There are twenty people in the classroom.

My Family
Wǒ 我 de 的 jiā tíng 家庭 yǒu 有 sān 三 kǒu 口 rén 人：bà ba 爸爸、mā ma 妈妈 hé 和 wǒ 我。Bà ba 爸爸 shì 是 yī shēng 医生，mā ma 妈妈 shì 是 lǎo shī 老师。Wǒ 我 shì 是 xué shēng 学生。Wǒ men 我们 sān 三 gè rén 个人 yī qǐ 一起 shēng huó 生活，hěn 很 xìng fú 幸福。
There are three people in my family: father, mother, and me. My father is a doctor, my mother is a teacher. I am a student. The three of us live together, and we are very happy.

Culture Tip: Chinese Family Structure

In traditional Chinese culture, the family is considered the basic unit of society. Extended families often live together, including grandparents, parents, and children. However, in modern China, nuclear families (parents and children) are becoming more common.

Chinese family titles are very specific. Unlike English, there are different terms for paternal and maternal relatives. For example, "爷爷" (yé ye) is father's father, while "外公" (wài gōng) is mother's father. This reflects the importance of family relationships in Chinese culture.
