English Translation:
Wu Gang wanted to learn immortal arts but was not focused enough. The Heavenly Emperor punished him by making him chop the osmanthus tree on the moon. The tree would grow back as soon as it was cut, so it could never be completely chopped down. Wu Gang could only chop endlessly, never able to finish.
