English Translation:
In ancient times, a man from Chu wanted to sell a pearl at a good price. He made a very exquisite wooden box to hold the pearl. The box was perfumed, inlaid with gems, and decorated magnificently. A man from Zheng saw it and liked the box very much. He paid a high price for the box but returned the pearl to the seller. He said: "I only want this beautiful box, you can keep the pearl." The man from Chu was very surprised: "The box is just a container for the pearl. The pearl is what's truly valuable!"
