Grammar 语法讲解

Grammar Point 1: ...有空吗? (Are you free?)
To ask if someone is free or has time, use "有空吗?" (yǒu kòng ma?). This is a polite way to inquire about someone's availability before making plans or invitations.

Ràng wǒ jiè shào yī xià, zhè shì wǒ de péng you.
Let me introduce you, this is my friend.
让我想想。
Ràng wǒ xiǎng xiǎng.

我很期待。
Wǒ hěn qī dài.
I'm looking forward to it.
期待你的到来。
Qī dài nǐ de dào lái.

Culture Tip: Social Relationships in China

In Chinese culture, relationships (关系 guān xi) are extremely important. The concept of "guanxi" refers to the network of relationships among people who cooperate and support each other. Building and maintaining good relationships is essential in both personal and business contexts.

Chinese people often use the term "哥们儿" (gē men r) for close male friends, similar to "brothers" in English. For close female friends, "闺蜜" (guā mì) is commonly used, meaning someone you share secrets with and trust completely.

Hospitality is highly valued in Chinese culture. When visiting someone's home, it's customary to bring a gift such as fruit, tea, or sweets. The host will typically offer tea and snacks to guests as a sign of welcome.

Social gatherings in China often revolve around meals. The famous Chinese "business dinner" (商务宴请 shāng wù yàn qǐng) is an important part of building business relationships, where deals are often discussed after formal presentations.
