Culture Tip: Chinese Food Culture

Chinese food culture is rich and diverse. Different regions of China have their own特色 dishes. For example, Sichuan cuisine is known for its spiciness, while Cantonese cuisine emphasizes freshness and light flavors.

When dining in China, it's common to order several dishes to share with everyone at the table. This reflects the Chinese value of community and sharing. It's also customary to wait for the eldest person to start eating before others begin.

In Chinese culture, certain foods have symbolic meanings. For example, dumplings are eaten during the Chinese New Year because they resemble ingots and symbolize wealth and good fortune.
